A five week Basic Intelligence Gathering Training scheduled to end on 31st July 2014 is under way in Accra for some selected Junior Immigration Personnel.
The training which is the first of its kind is being organized by the Enforcement Intelligence Bureau [EIB] of the Ghana Immigration Service, [GIS], which consist of Document Fraud Expertise Centre, Enforcement, Intelligence, and ASTIP Units. It is aimed at equipping the personnel with the basic intelligence gathering, communication and report writing skills, and the third eye techniques. |
In his opening remarks, the head of EIB, Assistant Director of Immigration, [ADI] Laud Kwasi Affrifah, noted that the overall objective is to build the capacity of its personnel in the area of observation, profiling, interviewing, listening and writing abilities to enable them as enforcement personnel deliver and to add to their efficiency as the Bureau of the Service.
He also hinted that the training will be done throughout the country to better equip it personnel for effective performance of their duties.
On her part, the coordinator of the training, Asst. Comptroller of Immigration, [ACOI], Lydia Achel, encouraged the personnel to take the training seriously and try to incorporate it to their everyday life as professionals.
In all, a total number of 125 personnel who have been divided into five groups are to be trained in the Greater Accra Region.
