The Acting Director of Immigration [GIS], Commissioner of Police [COP], Dr Peter A. Wiredu has signed the book of condolence opened for the Late President, John Evans Atta Mills at the State House in Accra.
In a statement, he described the Late President as a man who was particular about the security of the country’s frontiers especially the Kotoka International Airport [KIA] where most travelers use. He said that the staff and Management of GIS received the news about his demise with great sorrow and wishes to express his condolence to the wife and family of the late President.
Dr. Wiredu, further stated that ‘’ our president was a firm believer in law and order , and the Service would endeavor not to renege in executing its mandate of ensuring that migration issues are managed in the national interest.
He prayed that his soul rest in perfect peace
He was accompanied by the Deputy Directors of Immigration, in charge of Operations, Daniel Taabaazuing, Administration & Finance, Veronica Addy, Legal, K. A. Takyi, some Management Members and staff of the Public Affairs Unit.
