The Minister for the Interior, Honorable William Kwasi Aboah has formally launched a 45 day Comprehensive Regional Training Programme to update the knowledge and skills of law enforcement agencies.

This is to enable officials to render effective and efficient service to ensure incident- free and successful elections in the country.

The Training which begins from 5th   September to 20th October, 2012, is being organized by the Executive Diligence Ltd Ghana and with sponsorship from the British Government.
In all, sixteen thousand personnel from the Ghana Immigration Service, Police, Prisons, Fire, the Armed Forces and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority will participate in the training.


As part of the Training, participants will undergo; simulation exercises to map out effective strategies to avert any unforeseen eventualities before, during and after the December elections. Participants would also be shared with experiences and critical observation of     previous elections held in Ghana and other parts of the world.


It would also address the issue of effective harmonization of the operational strategies and tactics to be employed by the law enforcement and other agencies in order to reduce the internal competition that usually ensue among security agencies during such events.


Present at the launch were  the British High commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Peter Jones, Deputy Minister of the Interior, Honorable Kobby  Acheampong, Chief Director of  the Ministry, Alhaji Osman,   the Deputy Chairman  for the Electoral  Commission, Mr. Safo Kantanka , all  Service Commanders and their Deputies and   personnel from the various security institutions.
